This sweet Grenache based wine has a garnet fading to pink at the rim; the aromas are more of a dry red than sweet red. Straightforward aromas of currants, berries and black plums anchored with an earthy core. On the palate it is medium-bodied, slightly dense, structured and yet accessible, as it smoothes out with some time in the glass. The fruit is reminiscent of ripe sultana grapes, raspberry and cranberry and touches of dry apricot blended with a spicy-acidic kick. This is closer to a Dolcetto rather than to a Commandaria. Chill lightly and serve it at 16°C with roast pork filled with prunes, hearty meat stews with belle peppers, pasta with blue cheese or simply enjoyed after good meal.
